We are an emerging online learning platform venture-backed by Baidu, the Google of China, called USKid. Our mission is to raise the English fluency of native Chinese speakers by leveraging the potential of online education to connect teachers from English-speaking countries with young, upstart students in China. Our hope is to give these students an advantage in life by teaching them a 1-on-1 English immersion from an early age.

6.We send you an email containing an official offer and contract.
7.We agree to terms and sign the contract. Congratulations! You are now a USKid Teacher!
Do I need to prepare teaching materials?
Nope! USKid will provide you with the teaching materials you need to teach every class. However, you are expected to prepare for class by reviewing the materials ahead of time.
Do I need to communicate with parents?
Not really. You will never be expected to communicate with parents in an official capacity. However, parents may sometimes choose to sit by their children during class.
Do I always teach the same students?
No. You do not get to select which students you teach. You teach whatever student happens to book a class with you!
Where do classes take place?
Classes are taught in a customized virtual classroom built on the DuoBeiYun platform. Classrooms are accessible through the USKid backsystem.
How long is each class?
Each class is 25-30 minutes long. This does not include the time you take to leave comments and feedback, nor does it include preparation time. Classes are cancelled after 5 minutes due to Teacher absence or Teacher tech issues. Student tech problems are permitted 10 minutes before class is cancelled.
How does scheduling work?
We ask that you let us know when you are available to teach two weeks in advance. Classes may be freely booked by students up to 24 hours in advance. USKid encourages all teachers to check their schedule daily.
Is there a minimum number of hours I must teach?
You must be available to teach a minimum of 10 classes (5 hours) per week during primetime hours. Within this requirement, you may determine the specific hours. Primetime hours are subject to change. Seasonal changes can be expected. Primetime hours (all times in Beijing Time):
6pm to 10pm
9am to 10pm
Is there a maximum number of hours I can teach?
No. There is no upper limit on the number of classes you are permitted to teach. However, please note that availability in non-primetime hours is more likely than availability in primetime hours to be left unfilled as students are in school. It should be noted that it may take a few weeks for teachers to receive a steady stream of classes as students and their parents explore the options available to them.
